But then the buzz started...
Steph and Sarah started talking about it on Facebook, then all the vendors started commenting about their excitement, and then I went to my first estate sale of the year, and it was a done deal! April Flea - I was in (and so was my big baby belly!)
With Dan being out of town I had to recruit another male crew chief. Coincidentally my brother would be in town from Columbus that weekend. Thankfully he didn't balk at my request to help and he willingly drove to my house at 6:15am on a Saturday morning! I had to repay him with "fresh hot malty boiled bagels" from The Cleveland Bagel Company and a fresh pour over coffee from Nathan's Coffee Roasting. He then parked himself in one of my vintage lawn chairs and enjoyed some people watching in the PERFECT 70 degree sunny weather! (Thanks Bri!!!)
My vintage turquoise Tonka truck has become my "mascot!" Several people wanted to know if I was willing to sell it yet, and the answer is still no. Although I did think about the price that someone would have to offer me and I think it would be in the $500 range! Any takers!?!?!
The boys and the Grandmas came by for a visit and as usual the boys did some "swiping" of my inventory. Guess who picked out the cards and determined which one they each got? Obviously the one who's smiling.
Getting visitors at the flea is the best! These are my old co-workers Kate and Kristin, as well as Kristin's cousin, Kristen. OMG, that's a lot of K's!!
I didn't post a Twinsie Tuesday today because I actually have these REAL LIFE TWINSIES to share!!! This is Ferg, one of my best friends from college, and her two adorable little twinsie girls. We are currently in the process of arranging marriages for them with my two boys...
...and here they are. The big guys! They tried to buy me some ice cream from Mason's Creamery but it was all sold out so they got me hot, powder-sugar covered doughnuts instead. I love them.
The first flea of the year was PERFECTION! Great weather, great people, and great food. I'll be on vacation during the May Flea, but hoping to possibly do the June Flea before the baby comes in July. Stay tuned!
Oh, and those 21 things about me. Yeah, Dina asked me to play along so here it goes:
1. Are you named after someone?
No. My dad wanted to name me "Liza" (pronounced Leeza). I would have grown up being called "Sleaze-a Liza."
2. When was the last time you cried?
Watching Parenthood last week! That show used to be happy and funny, now I cry at every episode! C'mon Parenthood writers, quit making me bawl my eyes out!
3. Do you have Kids?
Two with the third on the way. Which is crazy because I still feel like a kid! I guess I'm kinda like a teen mom.
4. If you were another person would you be a friend of yourself?Yes, because we'd both love thrifting, Pinterest and ordering dessert after dinner. We'd be besties!
5. Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Aldi brand animal CRACKers.
6. Do you like your handwriting?
Not enough to turn it into a font.
7. What's your favorite cereal?
Ohhhhh, so many! Back in the day I loved Nerds cereal, Golden Crisp and Alphabits with marshmallows. Now I'd say it's a toss up between Cocoa Krispies, Cracklin Oat Bran, and Lucky Charms.
8. What's the first thing you notice about someone?
Their laugh. I like people who laugh a lot.
9. What is your eye color?
Brown. But that's boring so I went to a list of Crayola crayon colors to come up with something better, and my option is "Beaver." LOL!!!!
10. Scary Movies or Happy Movies
Considering I had to be driven home at 2 in the morning from sleepovers after being scared of ghost stories, I only watch happy movies.
11. Favorite TV Show?
Obviously Parenthood. 4 of my Twinsie Tuesdays have been Parenthood characters!
12. Summer or Winter?
Ideally I'd like 8 months of summer, 2 months of fall, 1 month of winter and 1 month of Spring. Where does this happen? I will retire there.
13. Hugs or Kisses?
From who!? If you're not my kid or my husband, hugs only!!
14. What's the furthest you've been from home?
I never felt further from home than when I was at 6th grade camp (which was probably 25 miles from my house). Growing up I hated sleepovers (reference question 10), and being in the middle of the woods in a cabin felt like torture! Thank goodness for the walkman and soothing music my mom packed me :)
15. Do you have any special talents?
Recognizing faces and determining people's doppelgangers. And also guessing the sex of a couple's first born child. I should get a job at a carnival.
16. Where were you born?
Almost in the hallway of Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland.
17. What are your hobbies?
Aside from thrifting and Pinterest? I used to play volleyball and softball.
18. Do you have any pets?
Not currently. We had Sam-boy for a few years. Long story, but he wasn't good with strangers so we adopted him to a wonderful new mommy who spoils him ROTTEN! I still keep in touch with them, in fact I face-timed with them a few weeks ago!
19. Favorite Movie?
Rudy! I turn into a crying hot mess EVERY time it's on. "Who's the wild man now?! Who's the wild man now!?"
|I met the real-life Rudy at a conference!|
20. What color is your car?
21. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A professional thrift shopper with an assistant who will clean, price and organize everything for me.
