Giveaway: Candy Jar

This is my first ever giveaway so I thought I'd replicate the first ever DIY project I posted on the blog. Remember this?

I upcycled that vintage candy jar for my friend Laura and now's your chance to have your very own, PERSONALIZED candy jar.

I already have it painted in Annie Sloan Pure White and once the winner is chosen, I will hand paint a word/phrase in the color and font of their choice.

Here's the dilly on how to enter:

Simply leave a comment on this post telling me
1) what your favorite candy is and
2) what you might want written on the side if you win! Extra entries for creativity and humor (keep it clean, people!).

The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Wednesday, April 17th.

  1. My favorite candy are Baby Ruths! On the side I would probably want written, "Calorie Free!" At least I would feel better about eating it! Thank you for having this giveaway!

  3. Sorry if you get duplicate comments from me.. I tried on my phone first and it didn't look like they were going through. Anyway, love thew new blog design. My favorite candy is a toss up between peanut and pretzel m&ms. I would write "Mommy's only" on it. Congrats on the blogiversary!

  5. My favorite candy would have to be Sour Patch Kids. I think the saying "sweeter than candy" would be cute on the side.

  6. What an amazing giveaway!! Love your new design.

My favorite candy? Depends on the day. Today I'd fill that adorable candy jar with Good 'n' Plenty (a family favorite) and write YUM! on the side.

  7. Love this. My favorite candy is pretzel M&M's. I would put sweet and salty on the side, which is what pretzel M&M's are but I could substitute fish crackers for my grandson too!! Thanks for the chance. Blessings, Debbie

  8. My favorite candy is dark chocolate "Snow Wafers" from Malley's and the treat I'd love to find inside the jar would be dark chocolate M&M's. I hope relatives aren't disqualified! :-)

    1. Hi Peg! Family is certainly not excluded from this giveaway. Don't forget to answer the second question -- what you might want written on the side if you win. One idea for you "Michael, Back Away." :)

    2. No need for that, Katie, he doesn't have a sweet tooth like I do! I'd like it to say, "Did You Wash Your Hands First?" LOL! (I guess you can take the teacher out of kindergarten, but you can't take kindergarten out of the teacher!)

  9. My favorite candy is jelly belly jelly beans (specifically in watermelon, buttered popcorn and cinnamon flavors) :) and I'd personalize it "just one more..." Or "Yummers"

  10. My favorite candy is peanut butter M&M's...mmm! My maiden name initials were M.M. so if I weren't married there'd be some dorky phrase concerning that ;) But since that's not the case, if I won I'd ask for "Eat me." And then I would follow directions.

  11. My favorite candy is (are?) Skittles, but if I won, I would fill it with salami and on the side I would want it to say "Gurmeet's Treats".

  12. I like Reese's Pieces. How about 'Yummy' on the side.
I stumbled upon your blog about a month ago (probably via Pinterest) and have really enjoyed looking at your creative endeavors. I love the idea of breathing new life into something most others consider garbage.

  13. This is so cute! You aren't really going to make me narrow it down to one candy are you? Well, I have a sick addiction to Sour Patch Kids but unfortunately I can't have any until I get these darn braces off. I would probably fill this beauty up with one color of a candy like all red gumballs or all white mints and would like it say "bonbons" ha ha I've always loved that word. This thing is so cool, how does it work? Do you just pull the lever and the candy comes out? Off to stalk the rest of your old DIYs!

  14. Ohhhh please pick me!!! Are there extra entries for begging? I'm not above it. How about a trade? I have 2 teenagers who clean, cook and do laundry. Seriously though, this is a great giveaway! I'd especially love to win this for my son who is 2 and Autistic and since Easter has decided that he will only eat jelly beans, which I have deemed the new food group.
Crossing my legs, fingers and toes that I win!!!
    xoxo,
    Kim (your soul sista!!)

  16. My favorite candy is snickers. But those wouldn't really work in that jar. As the only male entrant thus far, I'll have to say that I'd put some beef jerky nuggets in there and put "Dad Fuel" on the side.

Congrants on the anniversary, Kate -- keep on bloggin'!

  17. Favorite candy would have to be twizzlers licorice.. but for a candy jar it would have to be skittles! :o)

I would go simple and want "candy" on the jar.

    Thanks.. Great item!

  18. I loved this when you posted the diy! My favorite candy is probably Mike 'n Ikes and I would probably put "Nom Noms" on the side. :)

  19. Brooke aka candy whoreApril 13, 2013

Love your blog and this idea! I'm a candy whore and have jars of candy in ny family room (just ask Laura, or better yet Lydia as they will confirm), so I need to win this fabulous piece!! I love all things sweet and sour (no chocolate oe peanut butter). Jelly belly's are a favorite in addition to sour patch watermelons. I wouls write either candy face or candy whore. (or sugar high or crack) I would prefer candy whore, but not sure if that would be inappropriate to have in my otherwise kid-friendly candy "store"! Pick me, pick me! Then you can bring the boys over to get their candy fix! (side note, we also have chocolate jars sine the husband does like chocolate and peanut butter)

  20. Katie this is so cute! And awesome you're doing a giveaway!
My favorite candy (or one of my top 67 favorite candies..)is Sweettarts. I have a movie theater-style box of Sweettarts in my car at all times, no joke. As for the personalization I would want one side to say "Lend me some sugar" and the other side would say "I AM yo' neighbor!" If that is exceeding the number of characters allowed for the personalization than I'd be happy with "Lend me some sugar". :)

Love the makeover and candy, two treats in one! My favorite is swedish fish, can't get enough of them and I would write treats (I know boring but I love it exactly the way you have it) or, mommy's treats. :)

  22. Perhaps the most obvious tip within this list is the tip to make sure you choose containers and other fixtures that will attractively and conveniently display your merchandise.
