Christmas Cards

Oh no.

Mama didn't send out Christmas cards this year...

Or last year...

and the year before that she tried to get away with e-mailing out our Elf Yourself video.

She likes to take pictures of us. Lots. of. pictures.

But she has an allergy to getting pictures printed.

She took an antihistamine and was able to print some pictures for our Grandmas and Grandpas,

but it wore off just as she was about to sit down at the computer and create our Christmas cards.

Next year we're going to make sure she sends out cards,

or else we'll boycott and all her pictures will look like this:

Merry Christmas!

Put a Bow on It

Doesn't that bow tie just make ya smile!?  I bought it at the Made In The 216 Holiday Shoppe at Room Service in Ohio City. It's made by local Cleveland crafter Simple Hands. Check out their etsy shop to pick up a bow for yourself... or for you Christmas tree.

I was inspired to put the bow atop my mini Christmas tree after seeing these pom-tastic wreaths by Jennifer Johner at Dearest Someday. In fact, I attempted to make a wreath as well but it didn't come out quite as darn cute as these ones. Maybe I need cuter doors...

It's been awhile since I'v posted a DIY project. That's mostly because I'm a huge procrastinator. I love thrifting and could shop all. day. long. but I lock up when it's time to actually create something. Especially if there's no deadline involved.

Luckily someone is giving me a deadline! Goodwill Industries of Akron has asked me to be a guest blogger on their site once a month!!! So cool! I will shop their stores then share with their readers ideas and  inspiration for DIY and upcycle projects.

I completed my November project for them just last week... nothing like waiting 'til the end of the month ;) It was this three-tier wooden stand. Head over to Goodwill of Akron Industries Blog and see the before pictures along with a tutorial on how I snazzed it up.

Somethings: Vintage Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

...and thank goodness because I've been dyin' to put out all of my newly thrifted decorations. Especially my most favorite find of the entire summer -- This VINTAGE TURQUOISE TONKA TRUCK!!!!!!

I just adore it! And it will not be put away after Christmas. Oh no, that tree in the back will be replaced with Valentine'a candy, Easter eggs, American flags, and pumpkins.

These actually hang on the wall in C's vintage sports room, but they would make
great Christmas decorations.

I found this one last summer. Bought it for my friend Gretchen for 1 DOLLAR!

This is NOT a thrifted find (it's from Pottery Barn Kids for $6.50), but I felt it was
appropriate to include given my minor bottle brush obsession and my
recent post about this unknown (at least to me) world of bottle brush animals.

I thrifted these last year. I'm thinking of yanking them right off that
wreath though and  actually wearing them.

Oh Garage Sale Season, how I miss you already.
